Garden Waste and Horses

As New Forest District Council has now stopped collections of garden waste, it has already been noticed that some people are putting their grass cuttings and hedge clippings out on the verges and open spaces around Hale.


Many people do this out of kindness thinking cut grass is good for ponies. Please note that any cut or dead garden clippings are actually lethal. Cut grass ferments in their stomachs and often results in agonising death.


Please pass this message on, compost your garden waste, save the ponies and make use of your compost in your gardens.
