Pylons at Hale Purlieu- overhead cable refurbishment.

National Grid requested a closed meeting with Hale and Woodgreen PC's on Thursday 8th September in order to appraise them of their intended works to refurbish the overhead cables running between Nursling and Three Legged Cross. This of course includes the pylons and cables running across the Purlieu and through Woodgreen. The works are to carry out essential maintenance along with upgrading the overhead cables in order to future proof capacity The works are to the overhead lines and pylons and do not necessitate any excavation works.

There is to be some clearance of vegetation around pylons in order to provide contractors with safe and complete access to each pylon. The first phase of vegetation clearance in Hale is currently scheduled to take place from week commencing 12 December to 23 December, with the second from week commencing 8 May to 19 May next year. These dates are subject to change dependent on project progress. Environmental protections mean that the first clearance must be done between December and January and the second in May. Pylons will be cordoned off from animals to enable this.

The Council have requested further details of the wider scheme and how it will affect the lines specifically from Turf Hill to Woodgreen – the same information as has been provided to the Landowners. Once received we will be in a position to give a further announcements on our website and in the Parish magazine.

If you require any further information at this stage please contact the Clerk - Amanda Johnson on hpcclerk@gmail.com 01725 511636 or 07553 728121.
